Richard G. Schaefer, 81, of Walworth, WI passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Vintage On The Pond, Delavan, WI where he  made his home for the past 2 years. Richard was born in Chicago, IL on May 16, 1930, the son of Rudolph and Ruth (Nielsen) Schoefernacher. He served in the Army from October 2, 1953 to September 30, 1955. Richard was employed as a tool & die maker by Sunbeam Corp. for many years and prior to retiring by Method Corp. He resided in Norridge, IL until retiring when he moved to Lake Geneva, WI. Richard was a member of N.R.A.
Survivors include one son, Russell ( Sandy) Schaefer of Walworth, WI, one grandson, Mitchell Schaefer, two sisters, Elaine Peterson of Janesville, Shirley Gross of North Lake, IL, two step-children, Jim (Cynthia) Mullen, Nancy (Fred) Tribe, three step-grandchildren, Danielle, Elizabeth and Randy, four step-great granddaughters.
Funeral services will be at 12 Noon Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville with Rev. James Melvin officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery veterans section with military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until Noon Tuesday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
